Kitty Reality House?
May 21, 2006 at 17:09
Just when you thought there couldn’t be anymore reality TV shows out there. Welll there is one more! Ever wonder what the cats do when there’s no one else at home? We’re about to find out. The cats will be residing in a posh residence on Manhatten Avenue in NY. We will be able to peer into their daily lives through the webcam on http://www.meowmixhouse.com.
The Cat Adoption Team is sponsoring a cat for the house and is allowing the public to vote for the lucky resident. Go and vote at: http://www.catadoptionteam.org/ I voted for Rockafeller because I’m partial to orange tabbies.
NBC returning TV shows to regular times

I’ve been a TIVO owner now for almost 5 years. I loved the idea of being able to set it record every show for a given a season. I’ve ’season passed’ a great number of shows and quite a few on the NBC network. Some of my favorite shows are on that network. As this blogger states:
After a couple years of NBC tweaking start and end show times to push their advertising dollars (and tweak PVR owners in the process), it seems they’re abandoning the practice of starting early and ending late.
NBC has finally realized the problems they caused all DVR owners out there less than conventional ending/starting show times. Usually my TIVO had no problem accomdating the 1-minute deviatoin to the the normally scheduled broadcast time of on the hour or on the half-hour. I only had issues when I wanted to record something else right after, which normally would start on the hour. So I would miss the show because of a scheduling conflict.
I would hope other networks (broadcast and cable) will learn from NBC’s switch back to starting shows on the hour/half-hour. Unfortunately, as one of the commenter’s stated, Discovery is starting to end their shows 1-minute after the hour. I, too, am starting to miss the last minute of Mythbusters.
Good influence?

I think so. One of my friend’s, John, exposed to the ‘cult’ show of Doctor Who. When he first described the show I didn’t think I would like. But then he had me watch an episode, and I enjoy it quite a bit. I just wish that the states would pick up the show. Our northern neighbors (Canada), get it, so I don’t see why one of the cable channels (like BBC America) doesn’t carry it. But such is life. So I only really get to watch it on our ‘Doctor Who days’. When I come over and hang out… then watch the weekly episode of Doctor Who.
TV Series on DVD

I think this probably one of the best things that has happend to a TV series.
I just started watching Stargate SG-1, and I’m starting to wonder…. What have I been missing?
This is a wonderfully entertaining sci-fi series. I did like the original movie, but I just never got around to watching it. I also never quite knew what time and day it was on. I’m glad that I rented the DVD series, otherwise I wouldn’t know what a great show it is. I’ve started on season 1… and eventually I’ll make it to the current season (I don’t remember if its final season as well). I did start watching Stargate Atlantis, which I enjoyed somewhat. But I like SG-1 better.
There are a few other episodic TV that I have on DVD. I tend to buy the ones that I think I will watch over and over again. Some of other favorite shows have been CSI, West Wing and the X-Files.
Its been a while…

It been over a week since my last posting, and that was mostly due to a busy schedule. Here’s my thoughts on the AI finale, I was a little sad that Bo didn’t win but I know he still has a promising career ahead of him. I was also happy to see Carrie win, as she was one of my top 3 favorites. Actually, when it was Bo, Carrie and Vonzell in the top 3 I kept thinking, any of them could win. All 3 are good singers. So overall, I’m still happy with the results.
If there wasn’t Tivo, I’m not sure what I would when I miss my favorite shows. I’ve Tivo-ing Alias since it first aired. And because of what else was on at the same time, and all the other reality shows I was watching, I got quite behind with Alias. Well, last weekend I finally got to catchup on most of the episodes I missed. Man! I sometimes forget how much I like that show. It always keeps me on edge, w/o a cliffhanger every week like 24, which I can’t stand! Now I just have the final 2 episodes to watch…. I can’t wait to watch them this weekend. Now I wonder how the show is going to develop with Jennifer Garner’s pregnancy.
There’s a few shows that are premiering this summer that I want to check out, like: Hit Me Baby One More Time, Hell’s Kitchen and The Cut. I wonder how these shows will turn out. Hopefully entertaining.

I have just two words “GO BO!”
Summer tv
May 22, 2005 at 22:47
With all the season finales just about over, there seems to nothing else to watch. Not like I really should be watching any more TV than I already do. But I find it entertaining and relaxing. Occasionally some of the networks start airing some new TV series, but 1/2 the time they aren’t very good. About the only thing thats good about the summer, its easier to find time to watch movies that I get from Netflix. There’s also a few TV series that I never got to watch that I want to see what the big hoopla was all about.
A mild addiction
May 21, 2005 at 20:45
I must confess, I’m addicted to American Idol. This is the fourth season, and its one of my favorites. I’m entertained week after week with the different contestants performing. I get this thrill of thinking in some respect I control their destiny. Even though one may think, that my call won’t count. But it does!
Compared to previous seasons, I was glad to see this year that my favorite contestant, Bo Bice, was not elimnated early by someone with lesser abilities to sing. I was happy to find out that he is the final two. But I’ve been predicting for weeks, that he would be in the final two with either Carrier or Vonzell. I’m still predicting that Bo will win it all. I thought his acapella performace of “In a Dream” was one of the best (if not the best) performance of all four seasons of Idol.
I don’t know if I helped influence my family, or if they just started watching on their own. But I remember watching parts of season 2 with them during a time when the family was gathering to support each other. Either way now we’re all addicted and gather together weekly to watch the performances on Tuesday nights. Remarkably, we’ve all agreed who we think are good, bad, and please get them off the show now
